Detailed Description
- Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR):
- BMR is the number of calories your body needs to maintain basic physiological functions (e.g., breathing, circulation) at rest.
- Formula for Men:BMR=88.362+(13.397×Weight)+(4.799×Height)−(5.677×Age)BMR=88.362+(13.397×Weight)+(4.799×Height)−(5.677×Age)
- Formula for Women:BMR=447.593+(9.247×Weight)+(3.098×Height)−(4.330×Age)BMR=447.593+(9.247×Weight)+(3.098×Height)−(4.330×Age)
- Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE):
- TDEE is the total number of calories you burn in a day, including physical activity.
- Formula:TDEE=BMR×Activity LevelTDEE=BMR×Activity Level
- Activity Levels:
- Sedentary: 1.2 (little or no exercise)
- Lightly active: 1.375 (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week)
- Moderately active: 1.55 (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week)
- Very active: 1.725 (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days/week)
- Extra active: 1.9 (very hard exercise/sports & physical job)
- Example Calculation:
- For a 30-year-old male, weighing 70 kg, height 175 cm, and moderately active:
- BMR = 88.362+(13.397×70)+(4.799×175)−(5.677×30)≈166288.362+(13.397×70)+(4.799×175)−(5.677×30)≈1662 calories.
- TDEE = 1662×1.55≈25761662×1.55≈2576 calories.
- For a 30-year-old male, weighing 70 kg, height 175 cm, and moderately active:
